Provides a supportive, psycho-educational, skill development-based therapy group for parents and guardians of children of all ages who witnessed, experienced, or are at risk for various types of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual), in order to reduce the parents and guardians’ distress related to the child’s abuse experience, and to increase the parents and guardians’ protective abilities through increased knowledge about abuse and the impact of trauma, and the development and practice of parenting skills. This group serves families in which children have been identified as at risk for abuse and neglect, and for whom court-ordered parenting education has been recommended.
