Investigates and intervenes on behalf of older adults who experience elder abuse ranging from physical, emotional abuse and active neglect to financial exploitation.

Provides county-wide police patrol and criminal investigations. Offers various crime prevention programs and education and general information covering law enforcement. Accepts reports of consumer fraud and criminal acts. Maintains an underage drinking tip line.

Provides building code information as well as ensured local building codes are enforced including taking and investigating reports of violations. Issues building permits.

Accepts property tax payments. Also accepts payments of water bill, garbage and waste disposal surcharges, and ambulance charges.

Offers education and referral services with limited direct emergency financial assistance available for electric, gas, and heating bills, prescriptions, rent, and security deposits.

Offers Individual Residential Alternative (IRA) and Family Care Homes as residential alternatives for individuals with disabilities that require 24 hour supervision. Homes are inspected and certified by OMRDD. Training and assistance is provided to increase skills for independent living.

Provides low rent public housing units including low income public housing for elderly and families. Emergency and temporary housing is not available, but priority can be given to a homeless person or family.

Medical facilities offering specialty services including, cardiovascular care, cancer care, women's health services, emergency medicine; and surgical services.

Performs screenings of preschool-aged children. Also provides a screening and assessment program for infants in order to detect and prevent developmental problems. Refers the children for appropriate remediation and evaluation.
