Long-Term Ombudsman Program | AIM Independent Living Center

Advocates for residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult care homes. Ombudsmen visit long-term care facilities, build relationships with residents, and give them a voice. Ombudsmen help people understand their rights; address issues that could impact health, safety and quality of life; and investigate complaints.

An ombudsman program, to help people overcome barriers to mental health and substance use disorder care. With support from the Office of Mental Health and the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, CHAMP acts as a comprehensive resource for consumers, providers, and healthcare advocates. CHAMP provides education on individuals’ insurance rights and helps address some of the most common barriers to substance use disorder and mental health care, including insurance denials of mental health and substance use disorder treatment and improper prior authorizations.

Offers community-based living for adults who have emotional disturbances but who do not require inpatient psychiatric hospitalization with the goal of transitioning them to viable lives within the community. Living arrangements are either in one of the agency run Community Residences or in a private home Family Care Residence.
