Provides a helpline to answer questions dealing with lung cancer, asthma, allergies, emphysema, smoking cessation and environmental health. Center is staffed by Registered Nurses and Registered Respiratory Therapists with an expertise in all aspects of lung health.

Pick up and impound or return to their owner’s domestic dogs who have strayed from their homes. Also included enforce laws and complaints regarding dogs who have bitten someone or are otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Most animal control programs are unable to handle nuisance wildlife.

Provides immediate temporary relief to children and families so out-of-home term placements may be avoided. Maintains a 24-hour availability to accept children 21 or younger.

Provides short, non-credit programs focused on helping unemployed, underemployed, and career changing individuals enter manufacturing careers (Welding, CNC/Machining, Industrial Maintenance Technician, BAS, HVAC etc.). Students who enter the programs do not need a high school diploma and the course fees are often entirely or partially covered by grants, scholarships and other funding sources. JCC Career Services will also support these students in their efforts to find a job. At the end of several programs, a workshop is held that leads students through resume building and interview skills. Workforce Development invites local manufacturing companies to interview students on campus at the end of some of the programs (welding, machining and industrial maintenance). Students have access to JCC Career Services for a year after the completion of their program.

Hears cases involving vandalism, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, traffic violations, and other offenses that happen within the city or town. Accepts payments for restitution or fines ordered through the court.

Provides free loans of assistive technology. Assistive technology is any device that can be used to improve the functional abilities of people with disabilities or short-term injuries. Available items include wheelchairs, walkers, Rollators, canes, crutches, ramps, grab bars, Hoyer lifts, adaptive seating, shower chairs, commodes, wander alarms, weighted items, adaptive utensils, laptops, iPads and deaf and blind/low vision technology. We also have learning aids, toys and games for early intervention, as well as pediatric equipment. Free delivery may be available.

Provides families with a safe, developmentally appropriate, resource-rich setting where children and parents can play and learn together.

Provides supported employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Provides assistance enrolling eligible children, families and individuals in low or no-cost state health insurance plans including Medicaid and Child Health Plus. Assists in enrollment with small business health insurance. Additional help is provided navigating the health insurance marketplace for people not eligible for state health insurance options.

Assists Medicaid-eligible people with disabilities, including seniors, to leave nursing homes and move into the community or to obtain services to avoid nursing home placement. Also assists with the eligibilty process, to select a service coordination agency, and to access other benefit programs and services in the community.

Works with income eligible households to improve the energy efficiency of the home. Furnace replacement, referrals and energy evaluations ensure the health and safety of homes. There is currently a waiting list for this program.
