The purpose of the group is to assist the client in using skills and concepts related to anger triggers and responses to further develop the use of non-abusive behaviors and overcome negative barriers; to assist the client in reducing his risk of physically, emotionally, and/or psychologically abusive behaviors that are hurtful to others and selves; to encourage further the use of healthy thought processes, understanding the role of positive recognition of feelings and how to deal with feelings/emotions in a healthy/positive way to assist the client in the use of learned skills to improve relationships and avoid negative consequences related to interpersonal difficulties with others. Child and adolescent counseling is provided on an individual basis only.
