Serves as the Registrar of Vital Statistics and provides various services related to birth and death certificates, and marriage licenses. Issues dog licenses and provides dog control services.

Provides a nutritious meal, entertainment, and socialization opportunities in a congregate dining setting. Transportation assistance may be available. Participants can also receive nutrition education and counseling by a registered dietitian. This program is offered in partnership with Pro Action of Steuben and Yates.

Provides health insurance coverage to individuals that qualify under the State Medicaid program. Covered medical services includes care provided by a primary care physician, specialists visits, emergency care, diagnostic testing and treatment, women's health services, prescription and dental care coverage and long term care services including home health services as referred by your primary care physician.

Provides personal care supplies as available. Accepts personal care supplies as donations.

Works to provide wishes to children who have life-threatening illnesses.

Provides information and referral, independent living skills instruction, peer support services, advocacy, and community integration services to individuals with disabilities in order to empower them to live within the community and maintain independence.

Provides assistive technology loans up to $30,000 for hearing and vision aids, communication devices, environmental adaptions, wheelchairs, and home or vehicle modifications.

Provides a 24 hour mental health crisis line.

Provides Section 8 housing assistance which helps qualified individuals pay a portion or all of their monthly rent. No emergency services are available.

Provides mental health assessment, ongoing counseling, psychiatric evaluation and medication therapy, mental health and substance use disorder screening, crisis intervention, pre-release treatment planning, post-release referral and case management, and advocacy for incarcerated or recently released individuals presenting with mental health problems, in order to improve adjustments to and functioning within the community, increase completion of linkage with outpatient mental health services, and reduce the relapse into criminal behavior.

Provides diagnostic and treatment services, critical care, and lab services. Also offers comprehensive rehabilitation, physical therapy services and medical social work.

Provides assistance to help pay medical bills for services received through the hospital or one of the affiliates including charges that are over and above what may be covered by insurance.

Pick up and impound or return if known, to their owner’s domestic dogs who have strayed from their homes. Also included enforce laws and complaints regarding dogs who have bitten someone or are otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Most animal control programs are unable to handle nuisance wildlife.

Provides building code information as well as ensured local building codes are enforced including taking and investigating reports of violations. Issues building permits.

Works with income-eligible households (homeowners, renters, and landlords) to improve the energy efficiency of the home (single family units, manufactured housing, and 1-4 building rental units). Considers weatherization efforts including insulation and air sealing; home heating sources, hot water tanks, carbon monoxide or smoke detectors, solar options and more, to ensure the health and safety of homes. Grants offered through New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for income-eligible households, referrals and assessment also available.

Offers information and referral older adult and aging issues including outreach programs and various workshops. Provides personal safety workshops as well to help individuals remain independent for as long as possible. Also maintains a private care registry of private duty aides, nurses, housekeepers, and companions for individuals seeking help at home.

Provides a free meal to individuals in the community.

Provides information and referral for family caregivers to find answers to general questions or information on specific disability and health care needs. Also provides referrals for direct services such as paying for health care, equipment or transportation.

Offers intermediate care facilities, community residences, supportive apartments, individualized residential alternatives, and family care services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
