Aids in facilitating HEAP grant applications. HEAP grants are used to supplement annual energy costs. Funds can be used to pay for electricity, propane, natural gas, oil, kerosene, coal and any other heating fuel. Emergency HEAP grants may also be available to eligible households with a shut-off notice or for those running out of fuel such as propane, wood, oil, kerosene or coal.

Provides perishable and non-perishable food items to individuals in the community for up to five days. May visit pantry every 30 days. Accepts food donations.

Housing Supports are designed to help people live as independently as possible in a community setting through person-centered supports and services. Residences range in size and with varying levels of support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages. Homes and apartments are located throughout Chemung and Schuyler counties. All residential options are designed to be family-like in all-male, all-female, or co-ed settings. Direct Support Professionals are on-site 24-hours-a-day to assist with cooking, housekeeping, and daily life skills. The supportive apartment program supplements the needs of people who are living on their own, but who may need periodic financial and staff supports to retain their independent living. Also offers a respite program to families who are responsible for the daily care of a loved one with a developmental disability and need relief.

Offers an after school recreational program that includes art, computer skills and open gym geared towards elementary school children. Also offering counseling and dance classes. Additional classes are provided to high school students and young adults regarding making good choices and job coaching.

Dispatches police, fire and medical personnel in emergency situations, to aid those that reside in the community.

Provides home visiting services for pregnant women and new parents. The program provides prenatal information to support a healthy pregnancy and support new parents by offering education and information to encourage healthy child development.

Also included enforce laws and complaints regarding dogs who have bitten someone or are otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Most animal control programs are unable to handle nuisance wildlife.

These books are delivered to registered children each month. Each one is personalized with the child’s name and mailed directly to the child’s home. This effort creates a gifting experience making books exciting and shows the child someone is thinking of them. Donations to support the program would be appreciated.
