Provides mental health assessment and brief individual, family, and group therapies for children and families impacted by abuse and/or neglect. This program is a partnership between the Department of Human Services, the District Attorney's Office, law enforcement, victim services, medical providers, and mental health services. The collaboration increases prosecution and accountability of perpetrators, while promoting safety and support to victims and the non-offending family members.

Provides transportation for patients and up to one caregiver enrolled in a veteran health program to and from scheduled appointments at VA Health Care Facilities when other transportation options have been exhausted. Transportation provided mainly to Buffalo and Syracuse facilities. Transportation to additional locations depends on meeting eligibility requirements.

Provides services to people enrolled in NYS Medicaid who have specific medical and mental health needs, particularly those living with or in recovery from mental health or substance use disorders. Program helps individuals to be more self-sufficient. Services may be provided in member's home or preferred community location. Program offers Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) and Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment Services (CORE).

Provides assistance enrolling eligible children, families and individuals in low or no-cost state health insurance plans including Medicaid and Child Health Plus. Assists in enrollment with small business health insurance. Additional help is provided navigating the health insurance marketplace for people not eligible for state health insurance options.

Provides in-home basic education and high school equivalency tutorial service for disadvantaged out-of-school individuals.

Provides comprehensive educational program to prepare every student within the district to meet graduation requirement as set by the state. Includes extra curricular activities that give students a wide range of opportunity to be involved in student life.

Provides help for individuals and families to get connected to health insurance, finding a primary care physician or other doctor, prepare for doctors visits, and coordinate transportation.

Provides free basic self defense training.

Provides programs to members to aid in economic development, transportation planning, governmental affairs, membership development, communications, public affairs, and small business coalition.

Provides information and service for Forest Rangers, Forestry, Operations, Pesticides, Spill Prevention and Response, Wildlife

Provides for the secure detention of minors who have been arrested.

Provides HEAP grants that are used to supplement annual energy costs. Funds can only be sent to primary heating supplier and can be used to pay for electricity, propane, natural gas, wood, oil, kerosene, coal and any other heating fuel. Emergency HEAP grants may also be available to eligible households with a shut-off notice or for those running out of fuel such as propane, wood, oil, kerosene or coal. Also provides assistance with replacement or repair of primary heating source.

Connects individuals with volunteer opportunities throughout the county. CVAC members receive the quarterly Thrive newsletter containing educational information and volunteer opportunity listings from a variety of community organizations.

Offers two residential homes for children and youth who are experiencing emotional difficulties and have reached a level of stability and recovery in other inpatient and residential settings which enables them to live with others in a community-based setting, attend local schools, and participate in community, cultural, and social opportunities.

Provides free, nutritious meals to children and teens at various locations through-out the summer.

Accepts residential, commercial, industrial and construction and demolition waste. Also accepts many recyclable materials, most at no charge. Does not provide hauling services nor process some types of materials. Drop Off Stations/Transfer Stations are available as an alternative to curbside pickup. Large amounts must be taken to the shredder station or the landfill. Call for a list of items accepted and applicable fees.
