Assists in enrollment with small business health insurance. Additional help is provided navigating the health insurance marketplace for people not eligible for state health insurance options.

Provides supervision of juveniles and adults who have been sentenced to probation including electronic monitoring and overseeing restitution payments. Offers juvenile diversion counseling and programming. The department also prepares pre-sentence investigations/reports for criminal and family courts as ordered by the courts.

Provides fire control, emergency rescue, first responder, EMS, hazardous materials response, fire protection services to the village. Services provided by trained residents on a volunteer basis.

Offers a semester long internship. Students meet at county facilities for seven all day sessions during one semester and receive hands on experience about county government including hearing department presentations, observing a legislative session, interviewing a County Legislator. The interns conduct a simulated legislative session as their culminating activity, where they introduce, discuss and vote on resolutions of their choosing about a county matter.

Grants offered through New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for income-eligible households, referrals and assessment also available.

Offers support to people whose lives were affected as a result of being raised in an alcoholic or other dysfunctional family. Based on the success of Alcoholics Anonymous and employs the use of their Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions program. In person and internet based groups available. Format varies by location.

Offers information and referral to individuals looking to become child care providers, including help with licensing. Also provides customized referrals to parents about child care providers that are licensed in the area.

Provides food to individuals in the community who are in need. Accepts food donations.

Provides building code information as well as ensured local building codes are enforced including taking and investigating reports of violations. Issues building permits.

Provides an alternative living environment for children and youth who have been neglected, abused or abandoned or have had contact with the juvenile justice system.

Provides early childhood education and family support services to children and families. The program goal is to offer a wide range of social and educational experiences to help prepare children and families for a successful transition into kindergarten. Also offers home visitors to families of program participants and to families who do not have a Head Start within their school district. Visits are designed to strengthen family protective factors and encourage family resilience using supportive services, education on child development, offering community referrals, and supporting families with their goals.

Provides an anonymous tip line for community members to report any type of suspicious activity or behavior. Although this line is anonymous individuals are encouraged to leave a name and number so an Officer can call if there are further questions.

Provide support and guidance for people who have adopted a child, or would like to adopt. Places and monitors children who are in need of alternative living arrangements with private family homes that are licensed to provide foster care. Offers training for families who wish to offer foster care services in their homes.

Offers individuals online tools to enable them to file their own state and federal income taxes.

Provides regularly scheduled bus service throughout the day with routes between the Elmira Transportation Center and the Corning Transportation Center as well as additional routes within the Gang Mills area (Erwin and Painted Post) and the City of Corning. On request bus service may be available. Offers curbside pickup for individuals living within 3/4 of a mile of a bus route.

Provides building code information as well as ensures local building codes are enforced including taking and investigating reports of violations. Issues building permits.
