Clinics are provided in cooperation from the Chemung County SPCA and Health Department. Takes and responds to reports of rabid animals and bites. If bitten, scratched or have had contact with the saliva of an animal that is believed rabid, wash the wound immediately and contact a health care provider. If treatment is recommended, call immediately to determine where treatment should be received. If there is any chance of exposure to a bat through an inapparent bite, for example, a bat had direct contact with someone, or was in a room with a sleeping individual call immediately to discuss the situation.
