Debt management is a renegotiation of the unsecured debts owed by a client with their creditors in order to get better repayment terms such as lower interest rates, waiving or reduction of fees, and re-aging of accounts in exchange for a consistent consolidated monthly payment made by the client. This is NOT a debt settlement program.

Offers one-on-one HUD approved housing counseling designed to present the basics of personal finances, to help establish good credit and/or repair bad credit, to assist participants in making the transition from renter to owner or to help resolve mortgage delinquency and/or prevent foreclosure.

Provides negotiated budget agreements and direct payments to landlords, utility companies, and pharmacies along with trouble-shooting to help people avert eviction, utility shut-off, hunger or medicine shortage. Also provides guidance on household budgeting and energy conservation and information and referrals to other agencies that might best assist with a client’s needs, including assistance with applying for HEAP or other benefits as eligible.

Facilitates a community center offering a single-point of entry to all ACCORD services and partner agency services including referrals to other programs and services and follow-up care for individuals in need. Assistance completing home heating applications, referrals and budgeting assistance with utilities. Food pantry on-site.
