Legal and Mediation Services | Steuben County Court System

Oversees cases brought before a judge by the district attorney. The County Court hears cases involving crimes or violations of law committed within the county including cases involving drug treatment. Family Court hears cases involving children and families, juvenile delinquency, child protection, adoptions, support, paternity, foster care placement. The Surrogate Court hears cases involved with inheritance, such as probate of wills and administration of estates. The Supreme Court hears cases involved with negligence, divorces, and contract and breach of warranty
